Here is a really great frame and fork! Brad new, never ridden or assembled. We just took it out of the original Cinelli wraper. It has a serial number that starts with a 91, so we're guessing its 1991 or so. This frame meassures 60cm to top, or about 59cm cc. The top tube is just about 58cm cc. The spacing on the frame is 130mm. Frame tubing is Columbus SPX.
The paint is wine red paint with the glorious moden logo Cinelli decals. A number of years ago there was a review of a Cinelli in Bicycle Guide Magazine of a frame that was the same color. This is an iconic modern logo Cinelli visual feast. The chrome lugs - oh, just gets the vintage juices flowing! Now workmanship in the bottom bracket is really excellent. Overall workmanship on the frame is nice although not to an American custom builder standard. Paint is nice, but we do note some very minor paint blems here and there. Still new and still factory fresh. But not absolutely perfect.
This will be a fun vintage go-fast racy type bike. It will be stiff we figure, this is not the frame to buy if you are a lightweight spinner and want one that "planes" according to Bicycle Quarterly terminology. This frame is for those who want a potent race style bike that is the essensce of Cinelli "cool".
The frame looks to have been prepped at the factory, but if you want us to run our Campy tool kit over it (where appropriate, we can't run all the cutters on the chrome faces, we depend on that having been done at the factory) and to double check the reaming of the seatube, that is an extra charge ($60) and will add a few days. Since a bunch of potential buyers of a frame like this have home workshops or close buddies who love to use their Campy tool kits, that we'd figure we'd give folks the option. Plus if we prep it, there could be a several day delay.
Note that shipping of this frame will be around $35 to $40 depending on address and we can arrange payment for that once you've made the purchase.
